The digital transformation in dental practices is progressing rapidly. Combinations of digitized patient data from the intraoral scan and CBCT with the corresponding digital implant planning enable better precision in implant placement. In addition to static computer-assisted implant surgery (s-CAIS), more and more dynamically supported procedures are also playing a role. Improvements in sensor technology, computing power and the miniaturization of current systems are opening up new options for the use of real-time navigation in implant surgery (d-CAIS) in daily practice. Methods such as augmented reality or mixed reality also play a role here in order to optimize the ergonomics of this working method.
